ONE.MOTORING portal proved handy for many motorists during the heightened trans-border checks at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints following the escape of JI detainee Mas Selamat Kastari on 27 February 2008. In this instance, Singaporean & foreign motorists were able to obtain real-time traffic updates to gauge the traffic conditions at both checkpoints.
Since its launch in 2000, ONE.MOTORING has become an indispensable online motoring resource for motorists in more ways than one. Besides relying on it for traffic images and information, motorists are also hooked on to the portal's e-services and its easy accessibility via Internet and mobile channels.
Collaborating with Green Dot Internet Services, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is able to deliver a vibrant, content- and service- rich portal to our users. The average monthly page view was then 2 million. It has since increased six-fold to more than 13 million.
The success of any portal hinges on its service relevance. Customer feedback is important for us to implement improvements to the portal. From improving the website layout, introducing 2D barcode for mobile access, to enhancing online enquiries and transactions, no effort was spared to meet our customers' needs.
The recent online Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted showed that the ONE.MOTORING portal was given the nod of approval by more than 93% of its users. A total of 5,704 respondents participated in the survey which was conducted over a 3-month period, from 12 October 2007 to 12 January 2008. The rating of 93.1% is a significant improvement over the 90.4% rating in 2007 and is a testament to the effectiveness of the public-private-people partnership.
