First unveiled as a concept at Frankfurt two years ago, the Audi 'Le Mans quattro' will be the basis for a new sports model named after Audi's three-time winning Le Mans 24-Hours race car, the R8.
The R8 will be produced at the high-tech Neckarsulm plant, where 28 million Euros will be invested, with subsidiary quattro GmbH taking responsibility. It should be exciting to see what goes into the production R8 while we ponder on the concept's technical specifications - 610bhp twin-turbocharged V10, 0-100km/h in less than four seconds and six-speed sequentia-manual transmission plus quattro four-wheel drive system. Expected launch of the R8 should be 2007.
