British automaker Jaguar has introduced its first armoured vehicle, the Armoured XJ Long Wheelbase. In addition to satisfying luxurious needs in transportation, it now offers protection from firearms and blast attack, robbery, kidnap and car jacking.
It's virtually identical on the exterior to the non-armoured version but is heavily armoured - featuring bullet-resistant laminated glazing, underbody protection, steel-armouring and run flat tyres. Additionally, it has reinforced suspension components, retuned steering and high-performance brakes. This XJ has also undergone extensive ballistic and blast testing by the independent test agency QinetiQ and accredited to European standard EN 1063 levels BR5 & BR6. Being a factory-built car, customers will be assured of full factory support and warrant plus a driver's training programme tailored for such vehicles. |
