If you think someone is playing a practical joke on Mercedes-Benz by sticking multiple smiley stickers on their service cars, its not. The new motto at Mercedes-Benz: If you smile, we will smile too.

To achieve their objective of staying relevant to the customers and to deliver promise, the strategy used is to reward the people best at fulfilling customer needs. Armed with an annual investment of 1 million Euro, Daimler Chrysler South East Asia announced the launch of its 'Mercedes-Benz Service Excellence Award' on 25 May 2005.

This award will be rolled out in 6 countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea and Brunei. A top prize of 25,000 Euros will go to each of the winning dealerships in the country contests, and another 25,000 Euros will go to the regional winner. Prizes will also be given to first and second runner-ups, both locally and regionally.
Judging process will be overseen by Mr JD Power himself, who has over 30 years experience in customer service satisfaction. Marks allocated will be based on Customer Satisfaction Index, Fixed-First-Visit ratio and Mystery Shopping repair quality, the measurement results will be endorsed by a panel of service experts including Ritz Carlton Hotel, Singapore Airlines and KPMG.
All results to be announced by February 2006.
