Jane, picaspeed, pica7, Orange Pica and I headed to the car accessories department after our lunch. Over there, we happened to meet shan22 and her hubby there too. At the car accessories department, they offer various brands of audio components, strut bars, racing seats, steering wheels, voltage stabilisers, car grooming products and more! Shan22 and her hubby got themselves a pair of neck-rests and some car grooming kits for their ride. There were also groceries and household electrical items at Jusco. Pika and hubby bought milk powder for their kids.

Jusco also houses many fashion and cosmetic boutiques. We found boutiques by Levi's, Mango, Nafnaf, Biotherm, The Body Shop and more. Too bad, the timing was tight so the ladies can't do much shopping. Lucky for the guys I must say. We decided to arrange the rendezvous again at 3pm to head for another shopping mall in Taman Perling.

The trip to Taman Perling was indeed gruelling!

We had to adapt to the extreme driving style of the locals and had to pass through two construction sites that made cars on four lanes merge into one lane. After passing the first construction site and making a u-turn, picaspeed, pica7 and us were left stranded because we missed a left turn while the rest were still ahead of us. We travelled for quite a distance before Jane could spot a u-turn sign. We communicated through the walkie-talkie trying to figure our way back while the rest waited for us to arrive. I felt both touched and guilty because pica7 had to drive out to stop the traffic for me to turn into the main road when I led them to miss the left turn because they were following me.
After re-grouping, we plunged into our second traffic jam. We finally reached the shopping mall in Taman Perling with some of our cars rather muddy due to the muddy puddles that the rest stopped at to wait for us. Parking was free at the mall and there was a car wash there that charges RM$6 for car washing. There was also a shop in the center atrium that sells local products like preserved fruits, karopok, Penang tambun biscuit (dou sa bing) and others. You can also shop at the Giant there for groceries and household items like laundry powder, detergent. Shan22 bought milk powder for her little baby boy.

Next stop will be seafood dinner by the sea at Kumpong Asli.

Although Vita and her hubby are in the rear seat, she gave Jane the directions to the kumpong while I relayed the directions to those following behind us via the walkie-talkie. We parked our car and walked towards the restaurant that Vita recommended. High on our minds now, we worried whether the restaurant will serve halal food. While walking towards the restaurant, we saw many locals from the kampong and the kids there all looked troubled. They were just dressed in faded t-shirts and dirty shorts. None of them wore any footwear. But luckily, the opening of the seafood restaurants there would have provided the adults with jobs.
Upon reaching the restaurant, all of us were mesmerised by the sea view and scenery. The authentic sight and smell of kumpong life added to the ambience. Soon, cameras started shuttering away. Picaspeed and Pica7 did an 'ah-go-go' dance for the camera but they were too shy to show it to everyone. All of us were just so busy with our sight-seeing that the waitress had repeat her request for our orders.
We finally settled down after all the hype and Vita repeated the dishes that she had ordered. Luckily the restaurant serves halal food. If not, we won't know what to do since Pika and her family are Muslims. The dishes all came pretty soon and the quality of the food and atmosphere beats those seafood centres located along East Coast Park! We chatted and ate away. Some of us even had mosquitoes to chat with. Most of us, especially picaspeed were busying swaying her hands all around to frighten of the mosquitoes. It was kind of good exercise during meal and after-meal to burn of those extra calories from the food.
Dinner ended and we discussed the route to take to go back to Singapore. Pika and family will return via Woodlands Causeway while the rest of us will take the Tuas Second Link and in-between stop after a toll plaza to top up our fuel. Vita led us to the main road again and towards the first toll plaza. From there, RainCCat took the lead while Orange Pica sped way ahead of us trying to test the top speed for his ride. We soon lost sight of Orange Pica while RainCCat led us to the wrong exit. RainCCat managed to find the way back to the petrol kiosk where we're suppose to refuel. We handed our walkie-talkies back to him and said our good-byes to one another. Everyone now agrees that it's really worth getting out of bed so early just for the trip.
