The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has widened Tampines Road from Tampines Ave 10 to Tampines Expressway (TPE). This stretch of Tampines Road was widened from a dual one-lane carriageway to a dual two-lane carriageway. In addition, a covered pedestrian overhead bridge and connecting covered linkways to the bus shelters were constructed at Tampines Avenue 10.

The project serves to cater to the increased traffic volume along Tampines Road brought on by the opening of warehouse retail stores in late 2006.

With the project completion in the 3rd quarter of 2007, commuters will be able to use the new pedestrian overhead bridge to cross the road safely and to access the adjoining warehouse retail stores along Tampines Avenue 10 now.
