The Land Transport Authority has awarded a contract to Megastone Holdings Pte Ltd to carry out improvement works at the Junction of Bukit Batok Road / Brickland Road and Bukit Batok West Avenue 5.

The works include the widening of Bukit Batok Road (PIE-bound) approaching the junction from 3 to 4 lanes, and the addition of an exclusive right-turn lane, from 1-lane to 2-lanes, at Brickland Road and Bukit Batok West Avenue 5.

Additionally, a U-turn facility will be implemented after the junction along Bukit Batok Road (PIE bound), along with drainage and other ancillary works.

The works will increase traffic capacity at the junction, and help improve traffic flow especially during peak hours.

The project will commence in February 2011 and is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2012.
