The Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded a $1.832 million contract to Megastone Holdings Pte Ltd to improve the road junction of Lentor Ave/ Yishun Ave 1/ Yishun Ave 2.
Works commenced in the third quarter of 2006 and was completed in August 2007.
The project involves widening the junction of Lentor Ave/ Yishun Ave 1/ Yishun Ave 2 to accommodate the following:
- An additional right turn lane from Lentor Ave (towards Yishun Ave 2) into Yishun Ave 1 (towards Orchid Country Club)
- An additional right turn lane from Yishun Ave 2 (towards Lentor Ave) into Yishun Ave 1 (towards Sembawang Road)
- Widening of the left-turn storage lane from Yishun Ave 1 (towards Orchid Country Club) into Yishun Ave 2
The improvement works include recambering of the junction and construction of semi-pavement, drains, culverts, sumps and kerbs. Installation of vehicular impact guardrails, railings, traffic signs and painting of road markings was also carried out.
