LTA will be conducting road improvement works to improve overall road connectivity and capacity in the Kallang area to cater for future developments, such as the Singapore Sports Hub.

Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2012 after the tenders are awarded.

Stretches of Kallang Road, Sims Avenue, Geylang Road, Sims Way, Mountbatten Road and Fort Road will be widened to improve vehicular flow. Eight traffic junctions in the Kallang area will also be widened.

In addition, a new vehicular underpass at the junction of Nicoll Highway/ Sims Avenue/ Guillemard Road will be constructed.

The road widening and junction improvements are expected to complete by 2014 and the construction of the new vehicular underpass will complete by 2016.
