Construction on Southeast Asia's first ecological corridor, the Eco-Link@BKE, begun in July 2011.
When completed in 2013, the Eco-Link will connect the Bukit Timah and Central Catchment nature reserves across the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), allowing animals, birds and insects to move freely between the two reserves. Growth of various plant species will also be encouraged by way of pollination and dispersal by animals. A joint initiative between the National Parks Board and the Land Transport Authority, the Eco-Link will help promote biodiversity in our urban environment.
