The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded the contract to widen Keppel Viaduct from a dual 3-lane to a dual 4-lane carriageway to Singapore Piling & Civil Engineering Pte Ltd.
The project will also involve the reconstruction of the exit ramp near Shenton Way as well as the widening of the up-ramp from Keppel Road to Keppel Viaduct (towards ECP) and exit down-ramp from Keppel Viaduct to Keppel Road (westbound towards Sentosa) from 1 lane to 2 lanes.
Majority of the design has been completed and piling works for the 2 exit ramps are in progress.
The works are expected to be completed in 2015.
The improvement works will increase the capacity of the viaduct which will enable the smoother traffic flow to cater for new developments in the nearby areas.
