Introduction
The Pan Island Expressway (PIE) is a strategic route that serves the east/west corridor and at the same time it also provides connectivity for traffic to the north and south areas.
Today, PIE is operating at full capacity and traffic demand of PIE is expected to increase due to the development growth in the key employment areas of the Jurong Industrial Estate, Jurong Lake District and the Central Business District.
With the proposed widening of PIE between Clementi Ave 6 and Adam Road by a lane in each bound, it will help to alleviate the current traffic congestion and meet the anticipated increase in traffic demand.
