LTA.PROMPT or the "Permit for Road Occupation Management Portal" is a new internet-based service that gives applicants the ability to apply for permits to carry out works affecting public streets/public areas from all necessary agencies in one application online. Previously, anyone who wanted to carry out work on public streets or other public areas would have to submit multiple applications seeking permission from various land-managing agencies, such as LTA, HDB, JTC, PUB, SLA, NParks etc. Submitting all the necessary forms and tracking all the approvals was a tedious and daunting task. To complicate matters further, every agency had its own requirements and service standards. Thus, filing and receiving approvals for works affecting public streets/public areas was a time-consuming and long process. On average, getting multiple approvals from agencies for the more complicated submissions could take as long as two months.

With LTA.PROMPT, applicants will now enjoy the convenience and ease of submitting their applications online. LTA.PROMPT will allow users to check on the status of their applications online, to view what other work has been approved, as well as learn about upcoming planned works. They can view a wide array of information that will help them plan and coordinate road works better. Best of all, the turnaround time for all applications is now within 14 working days.

LTA.PROMPT is one of a series of "e-measures" that LTA has undertaken to streamline administrative processes and improve communication by making use of the Internet. Our goal is to make road work less intrusive and to complete it as quickly as possible.
