Some motorists have written in asking us to put up "No U-Turn" signs so that it is clear whether it is illegal to make a U-Turn at designated junctions.

With more than 1800 signalised junctions on our roads, we would have to put up an extremely large number of signs if we adopted the practice of placing "No U-Turn" signs.

This will results in our streets being cluttered with signs, confusing motorists. It can also be a safety hazard. To ensure smooth traffic flow along our roads and safety for road users, we have chosen to identify locations where "U-Turn" can be allowed.
